COMPREHENSIVE MEDICAL SERVICES & MEDICAL PROVIDER NETWORK
A critical component of IMS's early injury intervention is the access to pro-active medical providers across a broad range of disciplines. IMS works closely with our third party medical provider group to ensure the earliest possible access to professional care, treatment without prolonged waiting times and a pro-active approach to the early and safe return to work. By ensuring each of these elements, injured employees have a far greater satisfaction with their overall workers compensation injury experience and evidence demonstrates better outcomes with a far quicker injury recovery and return to work.
IMS and our medical provider group maintains the emphasis on return to work, including modified or restricted suitable duties, as a critical part of the overall rehabilitation and injury recovery plan. This philosophy is often overlooked and as a consequence injured employees have delayed or poor outcomes through prolonged absences from the workplace, physical deconditioning and in some instances the psychological effects of being away from workplace and colleagues. If managed correctly at the front-end and collaboratively back at the workplace, lost time injury (LTI) performance can be dramatically improved and in many cases LTI avoided completely through IMS injury management.

PRIVATE EMERGENCY DEPARTMENTS - 24 HOURS / 7 DAYS
Although we deal with non-emergency work related injuries, we have a provider relationship with a number of Private Hospital Emergency Departments in Adelaide and Melbourne as primary providers of services for acute injury requiring immediate and specialised services both during the day and after-hours. IMS Medics also have direct communication capability from site to the department physicians so IMS personnel can seek on-line medical direction including the fast tracking and streamline of referrals before we even leave the worksite. |
GENERAL PRACTITIONERS & ALLIED SERVICES
IMS has provider relationships with a number of clinics within Adelaide with locations across the CBD who specialise in work injury. This includes referral to physiotherapy and other related treatment all at the one location to enhance the total injury care, treatment and injury rehabilitation. IMS will provide courtesy transport of your injured employees on the day of injury and also any subsequent medical or related appointments through our network of medical providers. |
SPECIALISTS & SURGEONS
For injury cases that require Orthopaedic, Plastic/Hand Surgeons, Ophthalmology or other speciality, we use the referral networks of our Private A&E and medical provider group to ensure your employees have quick access to specialists and day surgery facilities. We ensure your employees have immediate access for urgent specialist review or day surgery. For non-acute cases we ensure your employees receive a specialist consult the next day or within 48 hours compared to existing waiting lists for access to specialist sppointments and consults. |
DIAGNOSTIC IMAGING
X-rays, Ultrasound, CT Scan or MRI are all easily accessible through IMS referral to our medical provider network. We ensure your injured employees gain access to diagnostic imaging on the day of injury (including transport) and return the employee to the referring practitioner with the results in hand or on-line to complete the injury assessment, treatment and management process. |
